Olomoucké Tvarůžky Cheese Festival

The 7th year of the festival with tasting of Olomoucké Tvarůžky Cheese specialties and regional beers

Competition of top chefs for the title of "Tvarůžky King"

During this year's Olomouc tvarůžky festival, six chefs from Olomouc and its surroundings competed for the title of Tvarůžkový króál 2024.

The competing chefs presented their cooking show on the main stage in Horní náměstí and their competing dishes were available for purchase at the sales stands. The best chef was decided by festival-goers by voting.

Michal Duracka of Asado grill restaurant received the most votes and became the Tvarůžek King of the seventh edition of the festival.

The following winners were drawn from the ballots cast by festival-goers:

Petr Heneš has gained cooking experience in restaurants in many foreign cities. His main interest is the use of modern trends in gastronomy and food design. He takes a modern and original approach to traditional Czech gastronomy.

Tomáš Hochla

Tomáš Hochla has gained experience at Michelin-starred restaurants all over the world. He makes sure that his dishes are prepared from scratch, without the use of semi-finished products, and always includes seasonal ingredients in his dishes.

Michal Duračka

Michal Duračka has been interested in cooking since childhood. After school, he worked abroad for several years and is now presenting his cooking at the asado grill restaurant in Olomouc. His favourite ingredients are meat and fish, and he likes to work with fire when cooking.

Lukáš Velšmíd

Inspired by his teacher, Lukáš Velšmíd started to cook on a river cruise ship after school. He settled in Ireland and tried Jamie Oliver's cuisine among others. He prides himself on cooking honesty, absolute precision, and freshness.

Roman Paulus

Roman Paulus started his career in Austria and has worked in various restaurants ever since. He is the recipient of one of the most prestigious awards in the industry: he has received a Michelin star six times for Prague's Alcron.

Tomáš Juřík

Tomáš Juřík has a wealth of experience in renowned Prague restaurants and abroad. He has cooked in the Swiss Alps and in New York, for example. In his work, he emphasizes local ingredients, making his own products and a healthy lifestyle.
